An Odyssey of Cosmic Proportions

Announcing a New Expansion for Cosmic Encounter

You’ve conquered the stars in Cosmic Encounter®. You’ve weathered storms, defended against incursions, forged alliances, engaged in countless conflicts, and established dominion for eons. Or perhaps you’ve done none of those things, and Cosmic Encounter has only recently entered your life. Either way, there is still the ever-burning question: what comes next?

Well, dear friends, this comes next. And it’s going to be epic.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Cosmic Odyssey, the latest expansion for Cosmic Encounter!

This massive expansion is bigger than anything Cosmic that came before it (aside from the base game, of course), and it packs enough wallop to enhance your wild and wonderful space shenanigans for countless games to come. Even if you don’t own any of the previous expansions, Cosmic Odyssey brings loads of aliens, variants, and a brand-new campaign mode to the table. It has more of everything Cosmic Encounter has to offer, and lots of things that have never been seen in the game before. It’s a never-ending odyssey, and one that no Cosmic fan will want to miss!

A Cosmic Campaign

The main new feature of Cosmic Odyssey is, of course, the aforementioned campaign mode.

This mode sees you and your fellow Cosmic Encounter-ers leading coalitions of aliens through a series of games across the cosmological “ages” while garnering prizes along the way. These prizes can be used in subsequent ages or saved for the final age. However, regardless of your win/loss record during the journey, every player that’s declared a winner in the Final Age Game is crowned a Campaign Winner.

In all the years and editions of the game, this campaign mode is unlike anything that has been seen before. With it, you and your friends can build an epic tale of conquest, strategy, and discovery that is entirely unique. It’s the wildest way to play Cosmic Encounter to date!

The different ages that play out through the campaign are represented by different variants, and there are a lot of them in this expansion! You’ll find variants from previous expansions (which will add content to the existing variants if you have those expansions but also function perfectly well on their own), variants from previous editions of Cosmic Encounter, and even variants from an alternate timeline that haven’t been seen before!

Will you revolutionize the cosmic setting with additional Technologies? Can you brave the dangers of the Hazard Deck? Perhaps you’ll wish to chase down all-new Objectives alongside your usual win condition. Or, maybe you just want to occupy a bunch of Moons. There are thirteen variants in all, and each of them can be used whether this is your first Cosmic expansion or your seventh!

We plan to go into more detail about the campaign mode and how it works with all these variants at a later date, so stay tuned!

Crowded Cosmos

Of course, this wouldn’t be a Cosmic Encounter expansion if it didn’t come with a bucketload of new aliens!

Some of the zany new aliens include the overly-honest

Aura

, the bombastically bursting

Bubbles

, the energy-manipulating

Magnets

, and the wickedly-wrathful

Witches

. If you’re feeling cooperative, you could always protect players’ assets as the

Lloyd

, or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, you could always just play as the

Throwback

. 30 new aliens can be found here, but there’s also a little something extra this time. Longtime fans of Cosmic Encounter may recognize some familiar faces that snuck in alongside the new aliens, though they may look a little…different.

The original Grumpus (left) from Cosmic Storm and the new alternate timeline Grumpus (right) from Cosmic Odyssey.

That’s right, in addition to the 30 brand-new aliens found in Cosmic Odyssey, there are also 12 “alternate timeline” aliens! Each of these aliens is a new spin on an alien from a previous Cosmic Encounter product; some are a little more powerful, some are a little less powerful, and some are just different from before. Whether you put yourself in peril as the

Daredevils

, kick people off your lawn as the

Grumpus

, or absorb your enemies as the

Void

, you’ll love revisiting these old favorites under a new light!

An Awesome Odyssey

With the new campaign mode, plenty of aliens, and an overall ridiculous amount of content, Cosmic Odyssey is a must-have for fans of Cosmic Encounter old and new. Launch your cosmic campaigns into the stars when Cosmic Odyssey arrives this summer!

You can pre-order your own copy of Cosmic Odyssey (CE08) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today!

Hamming it Up

Announcing the Spider-Ham Hero Pack for Marvel Champions: The Card Game

“You ever feel as if someone else is in control, like you’re just a character in a game?”

Greetings, citizens! You’ve met high-flying heroes, super-genius scientists, and cosmic sorcerers. You’ve seen awe-inspiring Avengers, grandstanding Guardians, and wondrous Web-Warriors. Now, it’s time for the porcine powerhouse, the spectacular super-pig, the wacky web-slinger, the one and only…Spider-Ham!

That’s right, folks! The fancy fun-lovers at Fantasy Flight Games are here today to show off the Spider-Ham Hero Pack, the latest (and perhaps greatest?) expansion for Marvel Champions: The Card Game!

This cartoon wonder WHAMs his way into battle in this excellent expansion pack, which showcases Spider-Ham as a pristine playable hero alongside his fifteen scintillating signature cards. This pig comes with a pre-built Justice deck ready to play from the opening credits, which means you can face down foes with Spider-Ham’s colorful cartoon abilities from the moment you open the box. With a staggering stockpile of terrific toon counters at his disposal, you won’t want to underestimate this great and goofy hero!

Oh, and we should mention that this hero pack also comes with a bonus modular encounter set featuring the iconic, terrifying enemies of all Spider-People, the Inheritors!

Hogwashed

Originating from an alternate universe of anthropomorphic animals,

Peter Porker

(Spider-Ham, 1B) takes full advantage of his cartoon origins by using his unique “toon counters” in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways.

Building up toon counters is easy—since cartoon characters can take quite the beating,

Spider-Ham

(Spider-Ham, 1A) uses his Spider-Nonsense to gain a toon counter whenever he takes damage. The best part? That damage can come from any source! Did the villain attack you? Toon counter! Did you attack a minion with retaliate? Toon counter, please! Did you stub your toe while standing up to grab a snack? Well…that’s technically outside of the game state, but sure. Grab a toon counter for your troubles—we won’t stop you!*

*DISCLAIMER: This is a joke. Fantasy Flight Games does not condone toe-stubbing (or any other out-of-game ouchie) for the sake of acquiring in-game resources, intentionally or otherwise. Spider-Ham is a cartoon character; you are not. Please try not to hurt yourself while playing Marvel Champions: The Card Game, no matter how much fun you are having.

Anyways, each toon counter can be spent as a “wild” resource right off the bat, but they can also be used to power spectacular Spider-Ham cards like

Ham It Up

(Spider-Ham, 3),

Hogwashed

(Spider-Ham, 4), and

“I Don’t Think So!”

(Spider-Ham, 5). Thwart some schemes with

Organic Webbing

(Spider-Ham, 11) and bonk the villains on the head with a

Huge Wooden Hammer

(Spider-Ham, 10). If your toon counters start to run low, call on

Captain Americat

(Spider-Ham, 2) to lend you a paw, or just provoke the villain with

Petulant Pig

(Spider-Ham, 6). Don’t worry if your health starts to get low—you’ve got

Cartoon Physics

(Spider-Ham, 9). You’ll be fine.

Of course, the wacky wonders of Spider-Ham’s cards only make up part of his pre-built deck, and thus the hammy hero swings in with a slew of stellar Justice cards. With fellow Web-Warriors

Lady Spider

(Spider-Ham, 12) and

Spider-Man

(Spider-Ham, 13) in the wings, you already have ways to remove threat from multiple schemes at once. Combine Spider-Ham’s Organic Webbing with

Overwatch

(Spider-Ham, 19), and you can build some serious threat-removing momentum. Then, once the villain’s side schemes are close to defeat, take the chance to

Even the Odds

(Spider-Ham, 14) and go ham on the villain itself!

A Feast of Fear

Taking a bit of a tone shift from the rest of the Spider-Ham Hero Pack, you’ll find a bonus modular encounter set tucked in the back of the pack. This set features the insidious Inheritors, a fearsome family hell-bent on hunting all the Spider-Totems in the multiverse. While each Inheritor is plenty dangerous alone, the really scary part comes from their cruel cooperation.

Bora

(Spider-Ham, 31) and

Brix

(Spider-Ham, 32) beef up the villain’s schemes, while

Daemos

(Spider-Ham, 33) and

Jennix

(Spider-Ham, 34) make their fellow Inheritors impossible to ignore. Not to mention, while he may not be father-of-the-year material, there’s no denying that their leader,

Solus

(Spider-Ham, 37), can soup up all the Inheritors to truly villainous heights!

Spider or Pig

It’s time to whack, smack, and boink the villains with the zaniest Hero Pack to date! You can look forward to Spider-Ham swinging into your games (and hearts) when the Spider-Ham Hero Pack arrives this summer!

You can pre-order your own copy of the Spider-Ham Hero Pack (MC30en) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today! And why wouldn’t you? He’s awesome.

Star Wars: Outer Rim

Unfinished Business

Announcing a New Expansion for Star WarsTM: Outer Rim

“This is just business, and once I get my money, we can go back to being friends.” – Hondo Ohnaka

You’ve made a name for yourself in the Outer Rim, and you are well on your way to becoming a living legend. But business is far from over; there are still plenty of jobs to do and bounties to hunt. Hyperlanes through the Core Worlds hold the promise of untapped opportunities, and the market is flush with new merchandise. Just be sure to watch your step, because the Outer Rim has gotten even more dangerous, and your rivals are eager to take you down.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Unfinished Business, the long-awaited expansion for Star Wars™: Outer Rim!

This expansion comes packed with new content for this terrific game, more than doubling the number of cards in the game and featuring more of everything that made the base game so special, as well as some exciting new features for you to enjoy. With more encounters to confront, more things to do, and more characters to meet (and play as), this expansion is an absolute must-have for any fan of Outer Rim.

Across the Core

Perhaps one of the most significant features added in Unfinished Business is the addition of the Core Worlds to the game board.

These take the form of two new endcaps on the board that, in addition to containing new planets to encounter, also function as quick travel points that let players skip from one end of the board to the other. Each Core Worlds encounter card, like the other planetary encounter cards in the game, has two possible encounters: one for the Core Worlds themselves, and one for traveling Across the Core. When you encounter a Core Worlds space, you decide which of the two options you’d like to encounter before drawing your card, then resolve that option.

An example of a Core Worlds encounter card.

Traveling across the Core can save you a lot of time, but it also comes with some risk. The Core Worlds are under the control of the Empire, and if you have negative reputation with the Imperials, then you can expect some difficulty when flying across the Core.

Familiar Faces

The base game for Star Wars: Outer Rim already had a plethora of iconic characters in its playable roster, and Unfinished Business rounds them out even further. Where characters like

Chewbacca

,

Dengar

, and

Hera Syndulla

were merely contacts before, now they are fully playable characters in their own right. There are also some characters that weren’t in the base game at all, such as

Cad Bane

.

In a similar vein, new contact tokens and databank cards have been added to make the characters from the base game encounterable as well. You can even gain the likes of Han Solo and Boba Fett as crew (so long as they aren’t being played by another player).

Here is an example of a new databank card for Boba Fett, one of the playable characters from the base game, now in crew form.

This not only makes the Outer Rim feel more expansive and lived-in, but also creates some interesting opportunities for player interaction when you receive a bounty for another player’s character. Whenever a contact token of a player’s character is revealed, it is immediately discarded, so you won’t be able to use that token to fulfill a bounty for that character. Instead, you will have to enter combat with that player and win if you want to collect on the bounty. The rewards for player bounties are different from what’s printed on the cards; you will always gain money and fame, but you can also gain reputation with any faction that the target has negative reputation with (and lose reputation with any faction they have positive reputation with).

This, of course, just scratches the surface of the new content and new means of player interaction added to Star Wars: Outer Rim with this expansion. You can look forward to new ships, new jobs, new market cards, new encounters, and an expanded single-player mode as well!

New Ways to Play

In addition to more of everything that made the base game so great, Unfinished Business also brings new optional rules to the table that can enhance the experience of Star Wars: Outer Rim even further. The first of these rules is the ability to give favors to other players.

A debt token, used to represent the promise of a future favor.

When playing with this optional rule, each player begins the game with a debt token, which, like credits, can be traded at any time during the game. At any point later in the game, you can request a favor from another player, offering them credits or the promise of a future favor in return. This favor can take multiple forms, such as gaining one of that player’s skills for a test or being endorsed by that player for a faction they have positive reputation with (and thus treating your own reputation as positive as well). While your opponents can choose to refuse your request for a favor, if you have another player’s debt token, then you can give that token back to them to force them to grant your request. Having someone owe you a favor really is a powerful boon!

The other optional addition to the game is ambitions.

An example of an ambition sheet. If the player completes all four objectives on this sheet, they win the game!

When playing with ambitions, you no longer win just by gaining the required amount of fame; you must also complete a series of goals (determined by your own ambition sheet) in order to win the game. Playing with ambitions provides a strategic direction for you to pursue during the game and a unique story arc for your character’s career, and it also creates more climactic endings to the game.

Both favors and ambitions are fantastic additions to the game and provide serious ways of shaking up the gameplay. Just be careful—once you play using one or both of these optional rules, you may find yourself never wanting to play without them again!

Business as Usual

Star Wars: Outer Rim was already a phenomenal board game that provided hours upon hours of exciting adventures for players around the world. Now, with Unfinished Business adding more content and expanding upon what made the base game so great, it seems that the legend of this game will only continue to grow. You can look forward to once again flying through the Outer Rim when Unfinished Business lands in stores this summer!

You can pre-order your own copy of Unfinished Business (SW07) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today!

Evil Reawakened

Announcing the New, Repackaged Angmar Awakened Cycle

“What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dúnedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?” – Aragorn, The Fellowship of the Ring

The western lands of Eriador have long remained peaceful under the vigilance of the Rangers of the North. Yet no grave can contain the evil forces of Angmar which lurk in wild and ancient places, stretching the valorous Dúnedain rangers far and thin in their duty to protect the land. With the awakening of this evil, it is up to a group of brave heroes to face the dire force head-on and protect Middle-earth from its shadow.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Angmar Awakened, a pair of repackaged expansions for
The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game!

Return to one of the earlier cycles of content for The Lord of the Rings LCG with the Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion and Angmar Awakened Campaign Expansion. These two products combine all of the content from The Lost Realm and the corresponding Angmar Awakened cycle. All of the player cards from those expansions can be found in the Hero Expansion while all the scenario-related cards can be found in the Campaign Expansion, along with some new campaign cards that weren’t part of the original release. This is the perfect opportunity for new fans of the game to experience this cycle of content, and for longtime fans to catch up on any parts they may have missed. Whether you want just one of the expansions or both, no fan of the game will want to miss Angmar Awakened!

Note: For longtime fans of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game who already own everything from The Lost Realm and the original Angmar Awakened cycle, only the campaign cards in the Campaign Expansion will be new content in these products. As with the Revised Core Set and The Dark of Mirkwood, these campaign cards will be made freely available on our website as print-and-play content upon the Campaign Expansion’s release.

Rangers of the North

“Lonely men are we, Rangers of the wild, hunters – but hunters ever of the servants of the Enemy.” – Aragorn, The Fellowship of the Ring

To face the shadow of Angmar and stand strong against the tide of evils, the Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion comes with a plethora of player cards to expand your deckbuilding options, including two heroes for each of the four spheres.

This expansion features a wide range of heroes from across Middle-earth, from Dúnedain warriors such as

Aragorn

(Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion, 3) and

Halbarad

(Angmar Awakened HE, 2) to powerful Elves like

Arwen Undómiel

(Angmar Awakened HE, 5) and

Erestor

(Angmar Awakened HE, 7). Among the other cards included in this expansion, you’ll find a multitude of allies, attachments, and events themed around the Dúnedain, such as

Guardian of Arnor

(Angmar Awakened HE, 10),

Star Brooch

(Angmar Awakened HE, 47), and

Expert Trackers

(Angmar Awakened HE, 63). You’ll also find some cards with new mechanics that were not present in the Revised Core Set.

For example, the ally

Ranger of the North

(Angmar Awakened HE, 22) has the “Encounter” keyword and has the same card back as the encounter deck. Player cards like this are not included in player decks—instead, while setting up a scenario, these cards are set off to the side until the moment a card like

Ranger Summons

(Angmar Awakened HE, 21) shuffles them into the encounter deck. The possibility of an ally being revealed from the encounter deck in place of something much, much worse is almost too good to pass up, and it perfectly represents how the Dúnedain brave the dangers of the wilds to protect the people of Middle-earth from evil.

Another unique mechanic that Angmar Awakened brings to the table are side quest cards. These special cards are played during the planning phase like most non-event cards, and players can (as a group) choose whether to put progress on it instead of the main quest during the quest phase. Completing these side quests can earn the party all sorts of rewards; for example,

Double Back

(Angmar Awakened HE, 53) will reduce each player’s threat by 5, which could save someone from being eliminated during dire circumstances.

The Dread Realm

“‘Strider’ am I to one fat man who lives within a day’s march of foes that would freeze his heart, or lay his little town in ruin, if he were not guarded ceaselessly.” – Aragorn, The Fellowship of the Ring

Even if you have no interest in the heroes, allies, or other player cards of the Hero Expansion, you can still look forward to a thrilling campaign in the Angmar Awakened Campaign Expansion!

This campaign takes all of the scenarios from The Lost Realm and the original Angmar Awakened cycle of Adventure Packs and strings them together to form a compelling tale. What begins as a simple task of aiding the Dúnedain in an Orc-hunting mission gradually evolves into a greater—and more sinister—plot. You and your fellow heroes will find yourselves facing down war parties of Orcs, ghastly Wraiths, imprisonment by Goblins, and backstabbing traitors, culminating in a showdown within the capital of Angmar itself.

In addition to a gripping story, the Campaign Expansion also includes some gameplay mechanics that help the scenarios stand apart from those of the Revised Core Set. For example, in several scenarios you may find yourselves traveling with the Dúnedain allies

Iârion

(Angmar Awakened CE, 1) or

Amarthiúl

(Angmar Awakened CE, 2). While handy to have around, you must also keep them healthy, because if either of them is defeated, you lose the game!

Similar to the Hero Expansion, the Campaign Expansion also includes some side quests that can get shuffled into the encounter deck. Unlike player card side quests, however, these side quests will require a bit more of your attention to overcome, and they can cause some serious headache if you don’t deal with them quickly. For example,

Search the Ruins

(Angmar Awakened CE, 19) will continuously raise everyone’s threat until it is dealt with. While you do receive a small amount of threat reduction as a reward for defeating it, taking too long to do so will make the cost outweigh the benefit. Decide what to prioritize and think on your feet, and you just might make it through this tale in one piece!

Finally, the Campaign Expansion comes packaged with a spread of new cards to support campaign play. Do well during the campaign, and you can earn useful boons such as

Hardy

(Angmar Awakened CE, 162) and

Determination

(Angmar Awakened CE, 172), but you must remain ever vigilant, as deadly burdens like

Arnor Ravaged

(Angmar Awakened CE, 158b) and

Losing Time

(Angmar Awakened CE, 183) will plague you at every step. As we mentioned before, these new campaign cards will be added to our website as free print-and-play content once the Campaign Expansion releases, so you can enjoy the campaign mode even if you already own the original Angmar Awakened cycle.

A Rising Threat

With treachery afoot and the forces of Angmar on the move, only you and your fellow heroes can aid the Dúnedain in keeping the darkness at bay. Whether you missed the original version of the Angmar Awakened cycle or are just now getting into The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, you can look forward to adding the Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion and the Angmar Awakened Campaign Expansion to your collection when both products release this summer!

You can pre-order your own copy of Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion (MEC107) and Angmar Awakened Campaign Expansion (MEC108) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today!

The Dunwich Legacy Investigator Expansion

A monstrous presence once terrorized the secluded village of Dunwich. The season of horror ended only after three professors from Miskatonic University—Dr. Henry Armitage, Dr. Francis Morgan, and Professor Warren Price—ventured to Dunwich, armed with secret knowledge that enabled them to defeat the creature. Now, several months later, Dr. Armitage’s colleagues have gone missing, and he fears the worst…

Note: Any longtime fans of Arkham Horror: The Card Game who already own everything from the original The Dunwich Legacy cycle will not find any new cards or content within this expansion.

The Dark of Mirkwood

Your Fellowship of heroes have narrowly escaped from their ordeal in Dol Guldur. After a brief stay in Lórien, your party is on its way back to Thranduil when they see smoke billowing up from the eaves of Mirkwood. The black plumes lead you to the smoldering remains of a Woodman village, with bodies strewn about and black-feathered arrows sticking from their backs. This is clearly the work of Goblins, and the pained gasps of a dying Woodman tells you that the survivors were taken by the fiends to their lair within the forest. You swear an oath to rescue them if you can, or avenge them if you cannot, and so you draw your weapons and follow the trail into the woods.

This standalone scenario pack contains two adventures: The Oath and The Caves of Nibin-dûm. These scenarios were originally released as part of the Limited Collector’s Edition for The Lord of the Rings LCG. Now, with the inclusion of new boon and burden cards and the onset of the Revised Core Set, you and your fellow heroes can take on these two challenging scenarios as their own two-part adventure or as an extension of the core set’s Mirkwood Paths campaign. Will you track down the Goblins and rescue the captives? Or will you become lost in the dark of Mirkwood?

Not a standalone product. A copy of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game core set is required to play.

You can pick up your own copy of The Dark of Mirkwood (MEC102) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today!*

Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Retreading the Path

Announcing the New, Repackaged The Path to Carcosa Cycle

“Indeed it’s time. We all have laid aside disguise but you.” – Robert W. Chambers, “The Mask,” The King in Yellow

For weeks, the upcoming performance of The King in Yellow has been the talk of the town. But research into the play’s dark history has convinced you that something foul is at work. Disappearances. Suicides. Delusions. Insanity. Wherever The King in Yellow is performed, madness follows close behind. No connection has yet been proven, but that won’t stop you from searching for the truth.

Fantasy Flight Games is thrilled to announce The Path to Carcosa, the next pair of repackaged expansions for Arkham Horror: The Card Game!

Return to the second cycle of content for Arkham Horror LCG with The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion and The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion. Just like with the previous cycle, all player cards for this cycle can be found within the Investigator Expansion while all campaign- and scenario-related cards can be found in the Campaign Expansion. This is a fantastic opportunity for new fans of the game to experience its second full-length campaign, and for longtime fans to catch up on any parts they may have missed. Whether you want just one of the expansions or both, no Arkham fan will want to miss The Path to Carcosa!

Note: Any longtime fans of Arkham Horror: The Card Game who already own everything from the original The Path to Carcosa cycle will not find any new cards or content within these two new expansions.

Walking the Path

To help you unravel the mysteries of the Mythos, The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion comes with a skilled group of playable investigators to come to your aid. Even better, this Investigator Expansion comes with six investigators instead of five!

As always, each investigator has their own strengths and weaknesses, and the six from this expansion all have their own unique twist to the gameplay that sets them apart from any investigators that came before them.

For example, the painter,

Sefina Rosseau

(The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion, 3), has the ability to store up to 5 events under her investigator card at the start of the game. On any of her turns, she can (literally) draw from her inspiration and pull one of those cards into her hand, or, by using one of her signature

The Painted World

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 12) cards, copy that event without discarding it. This allows Sefina to get multiple uses out of handy events like

Cheap Shot

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 194) and

Narrow Escape

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 267), which can be crucial to success near the end of a scenario when the stakes are at their highest. Just be careful that you do not rely on those events too much, or else the

Star of Hyades

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 13) could be devastating if they appear at the wrong time.

Where Sefina keeps some inspiration tucked under her investigator card, the gravedigger

William Yorick

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 5) specializes in digging through his discard pile to retrieve valuable assets. This ability synergizes well with cards like

Lantern

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 36) and

Gravedigger’s Shovel

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 37), which have bonus abilities that come at the cost of discarding themselves. Since Yorick can pull an asset from his discard pile after defeating an enemy, he can retrieve and reuse these cards faster than his companions. Speaking of defeating enemies, if a particularly troublesome monster rears its ugly head, then you can use Yorick’s signature event

Bury Them Deep

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 16) to remove that enemy from the game upon its defeat, ensuring that you won’t have to deal with it again. Alas, poor Yorick must occasionally deal with his own monsters, and if the

Graveyard Ghouls

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 17) appear, you won’t be able to ignore them.

One especially unique character that comes with the Investigator Expansion is the actress

Lola Hayes

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 6), the game’s very first Neutral investigator! As someone who has spent her career embodying a wide variety of roles, it only makes sense that Lola can switch her in-game role on the fly. While playing as Lola can be a little tricky—you are restricted to only using Neutral cards and the cards from her current role—a little

Improvisation

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 18) goes a long way in making sure you always have access to what you need. Conduct some

Fieldwork

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 24) as a Seeker, then switch to Guardian to take down enemies with a

.32 Colt

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 20). This flexibility does come at a price, though; after embodying so many different roles, sometimes Lola will be struck with a

Crisis of Identity

(The Path to Carcosa IE, 19), which could result in you being cast as the wrong role at the wrong time!

Curtain Call

Even if you have little interest in the investigators of the Investigator Expansion, there is still plenty to enjoy with the thrilling story of The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion!

In this campaign, you and your fellow investigators must dive into the dark mysteries surrounding the notorious play, The King in Yellow, before its performances bring mayhem upon Arkham and its people. You begin the campaign within Arkham’s Ward Theatre, suddenly waking up after the play’s intermission to find torn curtains and fresh corpses. What follows is an eerie tale of twists and turns, faded memories, and gnawing uncertainty. Your investigations will take you from the Ward Theatre in Arkham all the way to Paris, France, and eventually to the maddening realm of Carcosa itself.

Throughout the campaign, there will be moments when your investigators will question whether the events occurring around them are mere figments of the imagination. The choices you and the rest of your party make may lead to a point of Doubt, which represents the belief that everything is happening only in your minds; or Conviction, which represents the belief that the horrors you all are facing are real and true. As the campaign progresses, your party will accumulate Doubt and Conviction, and the relative levels of each will alter the scenarios to better fit the narrative of your investigators’ mental states. This means that every playthrough will turn out a little bit different!

All eight scenarios of the original The Path to Carcosa campaign are included in this Campaign Expansion, with all the trials and tribulations that come with them. With determination, gumption, and the right tricks up your sleeve, you and your fellow investigators may yet be able to solve the mystery of The King in Yellow and save the people of Arkham from a threat they aren’t even aware of. Do you think you can do it?

Echoes of the Past

With a nefarious play driving its viewers insane and an insidious being orchestrating it all, only you and your fellow investigators can hope to unravel the truth and save Arkham from a horrifying fate. Whether you missed the original version of The Path to Carcosa or are just now getting into Arkham Horror: The Card Game, you can look forward to adding The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion and The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion to your collection when both products release this summer!

You can pre-order your own copy of The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion (AHC67) and The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion (AHC68) at your local retailer or online through our webstore today!
