In video games, frustration is often viewed as a dirty word. If you’re feeling frustrated—like you’ve hit a wall and can’t find a way over, under, or around—the designers must have made a mistake. That’s not always the case, though. Sometimes, game makers try to make you feel irritated, or even livid.
I’ve played about eleven hours of Ghost Recon Wildlands, sniping enemies and trolling my hapless squadmates. It’s a pretty good time although I’m a bit worried that the fun won’t last forever. Here are some early thoughts on what works and what doesn’t.
In Nier: Automata you play as 2B, an unstoppable android killing machine tasked with ridding the world of alien robot invaders. When she dies, she transfers to a new body and keeps fighting, but don’t count her old body out yet.

Here’s Nanospace, a new title up on Steam Greenlight. It’s a game about alien nanomites and chemistry, and looks a lot cooler than the setting suggests.
